Belgian Waffles: The Most Indulgent Breakfast!

Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, Belgian waffles are the ultimate treat. Served with powdered sugar or chocolate, they elevate any breakfast or dessert!

Ingredients (Makes 10):

  • 500 gr all-purpose flour
  • 80 gr sugar
  • 2 tsp dry yeast
  • 150 ml lukewarm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 190 g unsalted butter, diced and at room temperature
  • 180 g pearl sugar

For serving:

  • Powdered sugar or melted chocolate

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, eggs, and butter. Add the yeast mixture and stir to form a soft, sticky dough.
  2. Rest the dough: Add the remaining flour and butter. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest for 20 minutes. Knead again until the dough is smooth and no longer sticky.
  3. Shape and cook the waffles: Roll the dough into a 30×30 cm square, sprinkle with pearl sugar, and roll it into a log. Cut into 100 gr pieces and let rest for 20 minutes.
  4. Heat the waffle iron, place a dough ball inside, and cook for about 2 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.

Serve warm with powdered sugar or melted chocolate.
