Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recipe Description

Soft chocolate chip cookies are one of the most beloved baked treats, featuring a soft, chewy center and slightly crisp edges.

The rich buttery flavor combined with melted chocolate chunks makes them perfect for any time of the day, whether paired with coffee or enjoyed as a sweet homemade indulgence. The secret lies in the baking time, which keeps them soft and gooey inside.

Ingredients (makes 12–15 cookies)

  • 120 g room temperature butter
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 50 g white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 200 g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 150 g chocolate chunks or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mixture: In a bowl, beat butter with brown and white sugar until light and creamy. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until fully combined.
  2. Add dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Add chocolate: Fold in the chocolate chunks evenly throughout the dough.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate the dough for 30–60 minutes for better texture and shape.
  5. Shape cookies: Form dough balls and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
  6. Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes. The center should look slightly underbaked when removed for a soft texture.
  7. Serve: Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm with melted chocolate inside.

Enjoy!
